
John E. Luckie
Project Director
John Luckie began his career with NCDS in 1983 after serving in staff management positions with the Atlanta and Kansas City, Kansas chambers of commerce. He brings to NCDS clients extensive experience in community evaluation, program development, volunteer involvement and, of course, fund raising from his years of work with not-for-profit organizations nationwide.
John has earned the highest professional designation, Senior Counsel, with NCDS through top performance for clients in North and South Carolina, Alabama, Virginia, New York, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Montana. He completed successful back-to-back-to-back efforts in Great Falls, Montana in the areas of economic development, mental healthcare, and youth services. Prior to his work in Montana, John completed a successful $3.0 million campaign for the Gwinnett Tech Foundation in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Recently John completed a successful campaign for the Arboretum in Sioux Falls, SD and before that in Columbus, MS for the Columbus-Lowndes Development Link.
One of John’s most prominent successes was an over-the-goal campaign for the new $6,000,000 Don F. Pratt Museum at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. John’s decorated military service as a combat pilot in Vietnam was a great asset for this high profile project.
John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Tennessee, and a Masters of Aviation Safety and Engineering from the University of Southern California. He has attended the United States Chamber’s Institutes for Organization Management and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.
