Jay Werth
Project Director
Jay Werth’s multi-dimensional career suits his role as a Project Director for NCDS. As an executive with privately and publicly held media companies, Jay led accomplished staffs to achieve revenue and operational successes. Radio stations under his leadership won several national awards for their accomplishments in programming, community involvement and charitable support.
One of his highlights was participating in the procurement of hundreds of thousands of dollars during fund raising campaigns for Children’s Hospitals in Little Rock, AR and Tulsa, OK.
After a lengthy media career, Jay became a performance consultant to privately held businesses. He founded Carolina Business Partners and assisted organizations with their employee selection, development and retention strategies. He also provided marketing consultation to small business owners.
For several years, Jay participated in Chamber of Commerce resource campaigns, personally responsible for procuring hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and in kind donations.
Jay’s successful NCDS projects include an over goal campaign in Yankton, SD. The Yankton Economic Success initiative is a collaborative effort of The Yankton Area Progressive Growth, Inc. and The Yankton Area Chamber of Commerce, to fund economic expansion which includes the new MIDI data center.
Jay directed the $4,000,000 campaign to build a new Emergency Department for the Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, OH. Campaign Chair Andy Czajkowski said of Jay, “During what could be described as the most difficult of economic times, Jay's hard work and diligence has made the difference in our campaign.”
Jay’s current project is for the Greenville, SC Chamber of Commerce: a $4,000,000 program to fund pro growth policy, education attainment, and high impact start-up companies.
Jay is a student of team building and finds this beneficial when working in community development. He believes that aptitude, motivation, and optimism are the critical success drivers for professional and personal success.
Jay and his wife, Martha, have three grown children and reside in Columbia, SC. He fancies himself a competitive bicyclist (for his age), and enjoys the performing arts and literature.
