"I understand the challenge from both sides of the desk. This helps me provide a more useful service to our clients because I know how the process works from both perspectives.."

Larry J. Waller, CCE
Senior Vice President

Larry joined NCDS in 1998 after more than 30 years in the business of growing communities. As a professional chamber of commerce executive and economic developer, he served organizations in Iowa, Montana, South Dakota and Alabama.

Larry offers NCDS client leaders and executives the personal experience of being an NCDS client himself, having retained the firm on five different community development projects.

A particularly helpful skill that Larry brings to clients is the planning and shaping of a strategy, usually long before fundraising is discussed. He is often a resource at board planning events where multi-year strategic initiatives are envisioned. Larry frequently facilitates discussions that result in aggressive new programs emerging from non-profit community organizations.

He is a graduate of the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management and its Advanced Academy at the University of Notre Dame. He was awarded the Certified Chamber Executive designation in 1985 and has always served in leadership positions in professional associations throughout his chamber of commerce career. A particularly significant career service highlight was chairing the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Association.

Larry and his wife, Julie, live in suburban Atlanta where Larry enjoys golf, fishing and reading.
