YAPG Sees Solid Support For Latest YES Campaign

Yankton Area Progressive Growth (YAPG) announced that it raised $2.9 million in pledges with its latest campaign, surpassing its goal and besting the amount raised five years ago by $500,000.
The completion of YAPG’s YES3 (Yankton Economic Success) helped in the creation of 400 new jobs in Yankton County, out of the 500 new jobs added in the county since 2012.
“YAPG has had another very successful campaign in bringing investors together in Yankton to raise money to fund our programs,” Rob Stephenson, YAPG chairman, told the Press and Dakotan. “Our programs have grown exponentially in the 10 or 12 years that I’ve been involved. It takes a lot of resources to fund the things we’re trying to do with workforce development, housing, bringing in new investors, new jobs and encouraging those folks who are here to expand their investments and their jobs in Yankton.”
Stephenson said a study done by YAPG showed it has created more than $100 million in new investment and new wealth in Yankton, despite the fact that fewer than 10 counties are growing in the state.
