Albert J. Doeve
Senior Project Executive
Meet Albert J. Doeve, NCDS' Senior Consultant. He has over 25 years of experience in economic development.

Al Doeve joined NCDS in 2008 after working with NCDS in his capacity as a client volunteer board member.  A true lifetime learner, Al has effectively integrated a variety of skills and experiences with NCDS’ proven methodology to achieve consistent success for over a dozen client organizations and communities.

Al’s career includes positions as a customer service executive for an airline and a mass transit authority, and management experience in healthcare, manufacturing, energy, finance, and technology sectors – including startups.  He has also served as a senior examiner for the Baldridge Award for Performance Excellence.  His interest and passion for leadership and adult learning recently compelled him to pursue and earn a Masters Degree in Adult Education from the University of Tennessee, which honored him with the Graduate Student Leadership and Service Excellence Award.

Al has delivered impressive results for a variety of NCDS clients in communities of all sizes and geographies.  He has raised over $25 million for economic development efforts in Virginia, Tennessee, Washington, Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota.  He also led the fundraising for a STEM academy in Louisiana and a new law school campus in Washington State.

Because of his own volunteer service and leadership, Al is especially effective at working with local leaders to advance their goals through sound fundraising principles and campaign processes.  He has served on a number of community development, industry association, and Chamber of Commerce boards, and is a youth sport advocate and US Soccer Licensed Coach with service at the NGB level as well as with USSF Missouri and Georgia affiliates.

Raised in Indonesia, the Netherlands and California, Al is a U.S. Armed Forces veteran and naturalized citizen. Prior to his recent Masters Degree studies, Al earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, completed UW Board of Directors training and the Executive Leadership Program at Emory University Business School.

Al and his spouse Maggie have raised a family and reside in Tennessee.
